The Great Trails Maps

These are the two best selling western cattle trails maps ever published. Both are highly researched, original copyrighted designs laid on decorative and detailed original antique western maps of the period. Printed on very heavy parchment cover stock, they are available on both 24”x36” and 18”x24” sheets. Other sheet sizes available on special order.

The Lonesome Dove~Comanche Moon~Great Trails map is taken directly from the descriptions in the epic novels of Larry McMurtry in the period 1855-1885. In addition to the drive and travel routes, the major events and places of both books are detailed in notes. This map is very helpful for those reading the novels or watching the TV mini-series. To give more context, the Chisholm, Western, Goodnight-Loving & Shawnee Trails are also shown in detail.

The 1876 Great Texas Cattle Trails map shows all the great cattle trails up through Texas, Indian Territory & New Mexico at their peak. The Chisholm or McCoy Trail, the great Western or Dodge City Trail, the Goodnight-Loving and the earlier Shawnee Trail . The 1862 Butterfield Overland Stage line is shown as are the emigrant wagon trails & western frontier forts of the period. Includes Horsehead & Doan’s Crossing & Red River Station. Very highly detailed.
